The U.S. Department of State, in partnership with the Department of Education, will lead the third annual observance of International Education Week, November 18-22, 2002. The worldwide celebration offers a unique opportunity to reach out to young people in every nation, to develop a broader understanding of world cultures and languages, and to reiterate the conviction that enduring friendships and partnerships created through international education and exchange are important for a secure future for all countries.
On March 16, school children from Samara, already familiar with the basics of processing diagrams in Photoshop, improved their skills at the seminar " Photoshop: We create!". Lecturer M. L. Kruchinina "opened the secret effects" of the powerful graphic editor for the children.

On March 4, the first chat-seminar "Ethics and the Internet" was organized for teachers in Ekaterinburg. Frances Jacobson, an employee of the university library at Urbana-Champaigne, IL, conducted the seminar from the United States. For dialogue between students and lecturer, a special room on the site (a server for communication among teachers and students from all over the world) was created.

A three-day seminar on Internet searches was conducted at the Tatishcheva Library in Toliatti from March 11-13. Twelve participants learned about various search engines and directories that enable users to carry out information searches.
